Carnival Cruise Line announced that its second Excel-class ship, expected in 2022 to coincide with the company's 50th anniversary, will be named Carnival Celebration.
Several Carnival collaborators, including Guy Fieri and Shaquille O'Neal, opened boxes containing the letters of the name, which is a tribute to one of the company's most popular ships at the time, and also fits perfectly with the 50th anniversary "celebration".
The Carnival Celebration will debut at the Port of Miami in November 2022, and will be a sister ship to the Mardi Gras, the first Excel-class ship, which will enter service on February 6, 2021, from Port Canaveral. Both will be powered by liquefied natural gas and will feature BOLT, the first roller coaster on board a cruise ship, among other unique features.
The Carnival Celebration routes will be revealed in the coming weeks and will go on sale starting in October.
