Following the announcement of the Crystal Clean+ safety and hygiene protocol for its ocean and river ships, Crystal has unveiled public health measures for its upcoming expedition ship, Crystal Endeavour, and its yacht, Crystal Esprit. Crystal Clean+ is considered version 2.0 of the already stringent safety and hygiene standards, expanded to safeguard the well-being of guests and crew and offer travelers peace of mind as they return to cruising the world. The set of protocols has been developed in accordance with the most up-to-date scientific data and expert recommendations available and will be continuously evaluated and revised as new information becomes available.
The Crystal Clean+ protocols are largely consistent across the entire Crystal fleet, with some minor adaptations to accommodate the differences between river ships and the Crystal Endeavour and Crystal Esprit. The protocols will be similar to those implemented on the ocean-going ships Crystal Symphony and Crystal Serenity, with minor modifications to suit each ship's unique facilities.

Cleaning and disinfection protocols on Crystal Endeavour and Crystal Esprit will be more frequent in guest suites and all social spaces and watercraft (zodiacs), using medical-grade products listed on the EPA's List N, which are approved for use against COVID-19, norovirus, and other infectious diseases. Open seating for dining will be maintained on both ships, taking social distancing into account, while drive-thru dining options will be eliminated.
Crystal is committed to fully complying with the measures of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC, for the Crystal Symphony, Crystal Serenity, and Crystal Endeavour), EU Healthy Gateways (for the Crystal Esprit), and CLIA, as well as those implemented by European cities or states (for river cruises), and will therefore update these protocols in accordance with their recommendations as soon as they become available or are modified. Crystal has voluntarily extended its global suspension of voyages until December 31, 2020.
All ships in the Crystal fleet, including ocean-going, river, yacht, and expedition vessels, offer nearly twice the space per person of similarly sized ships, which is among the highest space ratios in the industry. Their social space will be further enhanced through the evolving safety and public health measures of the Crystal Clean+ program. In addition, the Crystal Endeavour and Crystal's River are all-suite with balconies, and most staterooms on both ocean-going ships feature private verandas for fresh air.
The safety of guests and crew members is Crystal's number one priority and the fleet will resume service only when the company's team of experts and global health and government authorities indicate that it is safe to do so.
