Saga Cruises' Spirit of Adventure, a cruise ship under construction, left the covered dock of the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, this morning.
Saga expects to receive the Spirit of Adventure, its second purpose-built boutique cruise ship, this fall. It will soon undergo sea trials and its interiors will be fully outfitted to welcome the first passengers on board. It features 554 balcony cabins to accommodate 999 passengers and the ability to reach speeds of over 18 knots.
On its maiden voyage, the Spirit of Adventure will depart from Southampton on November 5 to sail the Mediterranean, before returning to the UK. Details of its christening ceremony will be announced later.

The arrival of Spirit of Discovery last year was the first milestone in this plan, and the ship has been very well received by our customers. I am confident that Spirit of Adventure will receive a similarly warm welcome, and I look forward to welcoming passengers on board to experience everything she has to offer.”.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Saga has been working closely with relevant government departments and CLIA to ensure it has the appropriate health and safety measures in place to guarantee a safe return to cruising once FCO advice changes.
