Silversea presents its new culinary podcast SALT LAB Radio

Silversea Cruises today announced the launch of SALT Lab Radio, its new culinary podcast, produced in the same immersive spirit as the cruise line's pioneering program SALT (Sea and Land Taste). SALT Lab Radio will use storytelling to explore culinary discovery aboard the new Silver Moon ship. It is available for free streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Google Podcasts.

Hosted by Adam Sachs, Director of Silversea's SALT program and former Editor-in-Chief of Saveur magazine, and featuring appearances by culinary experts, each episode of the new podcast will take listeners deep into the rich culinary cultures of the world. The setting will change depending on the geographical location of Silversea's Silver Moon. The podcast is co-produced by Howie Kahn, Rob Corso, and Casey Kahn of FreeTime Media.

“We all need to escape these days, and with local experts guiding us, we can make connections to faraway places, discussing where to eat or what to try in each location, along with practical tips useful for the food-loving traveler,” says Sachs. “We’ll follow the Silver Moon route and meet with passionate chefs, winemakers, food writers, and other experts to help us appreciate the places we visit through the lens of what they grow and cook there.”.

Sachs and his team have traveled to multiple locations to share the most engaging culinary stories and meet the most fascinating guests: SALT Lab Radio will allow listeners to follow gastronomy back to its origins, meet the people who preserve culinary traditions and create new ones.

The first episode of the new podcast is available for free streaming on iTunes, Spotify and Google Podcasts, as well as on the Silversea blog:

EPISODE ONE: Border Legends: Friuli, Slovenia, Trieste
In the first episode of SALT Lab Radio, Sachs speaks with three experts along the border between Italy and Slovenia: Ana Roš, considered Slovenia's best female chef and co-owner of Hiša Franko, Slovenia's first restaurant to earn two Michelin stars; Antonia Klugmann, head chef and owner of the Michelin-starred restaurant L'Argine a Vencò in Collio, Italy; and Mateja Gravner, winemaker at the illustrious Gravner family winery, which straddles the border between Italy and Slovenia and uses ancient winemaking techniques.

In the coming weeks, more episodes will premiere, featuring explorations of the culinary cultures of Albania, Sicily, and Lisbon. Later, as the Silver Moon travels to the Caribbean and South America, further episodes will take listeners on a deeper journey through the culinary traditions of these regions.

“As a pioneering leader in the ultra-luxury cruise industry, we are constantly seeking innovative ways to respond to our guests’ needs, preferences, and behaviors and to enrich their voyages,” says Barbara Muckermann, Chief Marketing Officer of Silversea. “In anticipation of our upcoming SALT program, we have introduced our new podcast, SALT Lab Radio, to begin sharing immersive culinary stories with our guests in an engaging and accessible way and offer a tantalizing taste of what’s to come.”.
