Crystal Cruises has unveiled “Crystal Clean+,” its initial set of health and safety protocols to be implemented on the ocean-going ships Crystal Serenity and Crystal Symphony when they resume operations. This set of Crystal Clean+ protocols is considered version 2.0—the initial expansion of Crystal’s already stringent health and safety policies—developed with the latest data from health experts to address the unique challenges posed by COVID-19, and will be continuously evaluated as new information becomes available. Crystal is committed to fully complying with the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), and global health measures, and as such, will update these protocols in accordance with their recommendations as they become available.
The new Crystal Clean+ measures include reduced capacity; new boarding procedures; enhanced cleaning protocols; social distancing and face covering guidelines; passenger and crew health monitoring; new testing equipment and medical resources on board; isolation cabins in case of illness with a separate air filtration system; collaborations with partners on land and much more.

Crystal Clean+ version 2.0 includes protocols for all aspects. These include, but are not limited to:
Pre-boarding and boarding: Additional precautionary measures taken in the weeks, days, and hours prior to boarding will help streamline and safeguard the boarding process for all passengers and crew.
Capacity control and social distancing: Crystal ships are designed to offer nearly twice the space per passenger as other similarly sized ships. New protocols will further expand this social space.
Disinfection protocols: Enhanced cleaning protocols will ensure that guest suites meet the highest disinfection standards. In high-traffic shared spaces, Crystal Clean+ procedures will include frequent cleaning services and other measures.
Mask policy: Crystal will require masks when its ships resume operations. This policy will be reassessed as needed.
Food and drinks: meals will be served personally to eliminate contact while maintaining delicious and elegant cuisine.
Air filtration and ventilation: Crystal ships feature 100% fresh air supply in all staterooms and main public areas. There is no air recirculation.
Shore excursions: Crystal is working closely with all shore partners to ensure that Crystal Clean+ protocols extend to the guest experience on land.
Crew Member Standards and Practices: Crystal Clean+ will ensure that crew members remain healthy and operational to deliver the best experiences to our guests.
Medical Center and Services: Crystal's medical centers are available to guests 24 hours a day.
Public Health Officer: a professional trained in the CDC Ship Sanitation Program in charge of Crystal Clean+ protocols and onboard medical teams.
Crystal Clean+ protocols are being implemented on Crystal's River, Yacht, and Expedition ships. The safety of guests and crew members is Crystal's number one priority, and the fleet will only resume service when the company's team of experts and global health and government authorities indicate it is safe to do so.
