Princess Cruises has decided to cancel all of its 2020 summer cruises due to limited flight availability, port closures worldwide, and other factors affecting international travel.
Cancellations:
- All Alaska cruises on the Emerald and Ruby Princess
- All cruises in Europe and transatlantic voyages on the Enchanted Princess, Regal Princess, Sky Princess, Crown Princess and Island Princess
- All summer cruises in the Caribbean and Canada & New England on the Caribbean Princess and Sky Princess
- Summer to autumn cruises departing from Japan on the Diamond Princess
- Cruises in Australia on the Sapphire Princess and Sea Princess until August
- July cruises departing from Taiwan on the Majestic Princess
- Fall cruises to Hawaii and French Polynesia on the Pacific Princess through November
“As the world is still preparing to travel again, we are announcing with great disappointment an extension of our pause in global fleet operations and the cancellation of cruise vacations for our loyal guests,” said Jan Swartz, president of Princess Cruises. “Among other challenges, airlines have limited flight availability and many popular cruise ports are closed. We are saddened to think of the impact on the lives of our colleagues, business partners, and the destinations we visit.”
Passengers with reservations on those cancelled cruises, who have paid for the reservation in full, will have the option to receive a future cruise voucher worth 100% of what was paid plus an additional 25%.
For passengers who have not yet fully paid for their booking, Princess will double the value of their deposit, providing a future cruise voucher valid for use on cruises departing until May 1, 2022.
Alternatively, passengers can request a refund via an online form. Requests must be submitted by June 15, 2020, or they will receive a future cruise voucher.
Commissions for travel agents on cancelled cruises will still be paid.
