Carnival Cruise Line is presenting its customers and travel agents with a plan to resume operations in North America this summer, beginning August 1st with departures of eight ships from Miami, Port Canaveral, and Galveston. The rest of its operations in North America and Australia will not resume until August 31st.
The plan unfolds as follows:
• All North American cruises departing between June 27 and July 31 remain suspended.
• Starting August 1, the following ships will resume operations:
Galveston: Carnival Dream, Carnival Freedom, and Carnival Vista;
Miami: Carnival Horizon, Carnival Magic, and Carnival Sensation;
Port Canaveral: Carnival Breeze and Carnival Elation.
• All cruises originating from North American and Australian ports (not listed above) are suspended through August 31.
• All Carnival Spirit Alaska cruises from Seattle remain canceled, as well as the Carnival Spirit Vancouver-Honolulu cruise departing September 25 and the Honolulu-Brisbane transpacific cruise departing October 6.
• All Carnival Splendor cruises in Australia from June 19 through August 31 remain suspended.
Both affected passengers and their travel agents will receive an email notification offering two options: a combined Future Cruise Credit (FCC) and Onboard Cruise Credit (OBC) package, or a full refund. Customers can manage their choice online, without needing to contact Carnival's customer service center, which is currently operating remotely due to the office closures in South Florida.
Carnival Cruise Line is committed to making every public health effort to address the current COVID-19 situation. In this regard, the plan has been developed cautiously, beginning with the resumption of operations at a select number of embarkation ports where they regularly operate and which are easily accessible by car for passenger convenience.
During this time, the company continues to collaborate with experts, government authorities, and other stakeholders, establishing protocols and new procedures to protect the health and safety of passengers, crew, and destinations.
