Suncruise Andalucía presents its new brand image, under the slogan 'A Smart Cruise Port Destination', with the aim of positioning cruise tourism in Andalusia as a benchmark in southern Europe.
Given the current situation, the Association made up of Andalusian ports of general interest is promoting its Digital Communication to contribute to the sector's recovery effort, within the framework of the 2020-2021 Action Plan presented last March at its General Assembly.

The President of SunCruise Andalucía, José García Fuentes, who also recently assumed the presidency of the Motril Port Authority, emphasizes that this digital communication initiative "reflects the renewal of the Association's activities." He further highlights that "Andalusia has a rich cultural, historical, gastronomic, and commercial heritage, and we intend to showcase it within the cruise industry. Moreover, given the current situation, it is precisely now that we must focus all our efforts and collaborate for the sector's swift recovery. The Association will undoubtedly be a valuable tool in contributing to this."
The Association's manager, Esther Molina, emphasizes "the need for a platform to communicate in coordination with the Association's various social media profiles. The cruise industry is global, and the current social and economic circumstances require a collective effort from the sector to sustain cruise tourism. We consider it vital to promote our ports and Andalusia as a safe destination, highlighting the efforts being made to implement health and safety measures in the region's ports and destinations."
'A Smart Cruise Port Destination'
The logo has been updated with the image of a cruise ship as a symbol of this tourist activity that is increasingly consolidated on the Andalusian coast and that contributes to the economy of the destinations.
It is a simple and modern image, created in a soft tone with marine colors, inviting the user to enjoy the sea breeze and the experience, not only of sailing, but also of discovering the destination's offerings in a sustainable way, a value that the Association will focus on especially.
The new website will showcase the most important information about Andalusian ports and destinations, as well as specialized reports and articles and a calendar of professional meetings, with the aim of promoting the region's tourism opportunities and a wide range of services to support decision-making by shipping companies and industry agents, as well as being an information point for individual users who choose a cruise trip with stops in Andalusian ports.
This tool will be complemented by Suncruise Andalucía's presence on the social networks Instagram, Twitter and Linked to reinforce the region's image as a home port and transit point for the routes proposed by shipping companies.
The Association is carrying out new lines of work focused on the relationship of ports with the territory, the sustainable development of cruise activity and the promotion of Andalusian destinations, and it does so hand in hand with the port authorities of general interest of the region: Algeciras, Almería, Cádiz, Huelva, Málaga, Motril and Sevilla, with the support of the Ministry of Tourism of the Junta de Andalucía (under the brand Andalucía Cruises) and the collaboration of the associations of the sector, such as CLIA (Cruise Lines International Association) and Medcruise (Association of Mediterranean Cruise Ports).
To implement the strategic plan, an Action Plan was approved, whose activities will focus on the proposed lines of work, such as collaboration with Seatrade Cruise Med 2020, the international meeting of the cruise sector in the Mediterranean, which, for the moment, is still scheduled to take place in Malaga next September. This event represents an opportunity to position Andalusian ports on the global cruise map, making our destination much more attractive. Also included is the creation of a Cruise Tourism Observatory, which will analyze the current situation of the cruise industry and work on subsequent updates to facilitate strategic and business decision-making for stakeholders, such as cruise lines, ports, tour operators, and others.
