According to Mail Online, two of the large cruise ships belonging to the British company Saga Cruises are in the docks of Tilbury waiting to be used as floating hospitals to help combat the coronavirus crisis.
The Spirit of Discovery and Saga Sapphire usually sail from Southampton, but with no space available, they were diverted to Tilbury. Thecompany has offered these two ships to the British government should they be needed, following the cancellation of their regular itineraries due to the outbreak and spread of Covid-19.
With more than 2,000 cabins, these ships could be used to isolate patients, thus freeing up hospital beds.
