The Allure of the Seas was scheduled for extensive renovation at the Navantia shipyards in Cadiz, but in view of the global situation due to the coronavirus, the shipping company has decided to suspend that renovation and that of the Explorer of the Seas.
The Navantia shipyards in Cadiz themselves have suspended work, which will also affect the refurbishment of the Carnival Victory, which was to become the Carnival Radiance.
The Allure of the Seas was set to receive new facilities, such as The Perfect Storm water slides and the Ultimate Abyss slide, as well as new restaurants and the renovation of the kids' clubs, but currently the ship is heading to Southampton to spend this period of inactivity there.
The Allure of the Seas' first cruise of the season is scheduled for May 10. The cruise line suspended all operations and cruises until April 11, so in principle, its cruise schedule might not be affected, although the evolution of the coronavirus situation and whether normalcy returns before that date will depend on the situation.
