Regarding the coronavirus situation in Portugal, and particularly at Porto Cruise Terminal, Port of Leixões, we regret to inform you that disembarkation and shore visits are prohibited for cruise passengers and crew.
Following the recent publication of the joint order by the Portuguese Ministries of the Interior, Health and Infrastructure, the Port Authority of Leixões is implementing the prohibition of disembarkation and shore visits for passengers and crew at Porto Cruise Terminal, Port of Leixões, except for Portuguese citizens.
According to the order, the Port Authority:
- It prohibits the disembarkation and shore visits of cruise ship passengers and crew in national ports
- The preceding paragraph does not apply to Portuguese citizens or those with a residence permit in Portugal.
- Cruise ships can dock at domestic ports for supplies and maintenance
- Point number 1 will not affect disembarkation in exceptional cases, authorized by the health authorities
These prohibitions are in effect from 00:00 on March 14, 2020 until April 9, 2020 and could be extended depending on the evolution of the epidemic.
