Princess Cruises voluntarily suspends operations of its 18 ships for two months, affecting all cruises from March 12 to May 10.
Passengers currently on board cruises ending within the next five days will continue their journey to the end of their itinerary so their return trips are not disrupted. Cruises scheduled to end after March 17 will be terminated at a point of departure that is most convenient for the passengers.
Princess Cruises will do everything possible to get passengers home safely. During this time, its operations and medical teams across the fleet will remain vigilant in providing care and service to guests and crew on board.
For those affected by this decision, Princess Cruises is offering the option to book a future cruise for 100% of the current price paid. In addition, they will offer a generous future cruise credit that can be applied toward the cruise fare or for onboard expenses.
Princess will protect travel agent commissions on fully paid, canceled cruise bookings. If the future cruise credit option is not available to some passengers, travel agents can request a refund on the cruise line's website. Princess requests that affected passengers refrain from calling the cruise line's reservations center due to the expected high call volume, which could result in very long wait times. Travel agents will be informed of the procedures, which will be implemented on the website.
