Pullmantur Cruises – the only cruise line in the market that brings the Spanish lifestyle to the way of traveling on a cruise – closed 2019 with a 5% increase in its revenue, as revealed by its President & CEO, Richard J. Vogel, during a press breakfast held this morning in Madrid.

“We are very pleased with the results achieved in the previous year: operating the same number of ships, our margin for growth was limited, however, we have managed to slightly increase the number of passengers and revenue, consolidating our strength in the Spanish and Latin American markets,” Vogel explained.
But, “if there was one event that defined 2019, it was the announcement of a new ship joining the fleet in 2021,” Vogel recalled. “We have laid the foundations for our strategic growth plan for the future; an exciting and promising future; we work every day with the goal of becoming the most successful shipping company of all time in Spain and Latin America,” the executive affirmed.
2020 Season
Looking ahead to this season, the President & CEO was optimistic: “In the case of Spain, we expect to achieve passenger volumes in line with 2019, which will allow us to consolidate our market position and continue to be one of the top choices for Spaniards who want to enjoy their holidays at sea.”.
In terms of new offerings, in addition to a "constantly evolving" proposal – Vogel explained – "we have launched new itineraries such as Iceland and the Faroe Islands, a route that our clients were demanding; Israel, Egypt, Greece and Turkey: Magical Orient, an incredible 11-night itinerary, and our first Wellness cruise, with which we are getting even closer to current trends."
In short, “we are listening to passengers more than ever; analyzing their demands, their tastes, changes in their lifestyle, to shape our proposal, always relying on innovation,” said the President & CEO.
Growth plans 2021
Next May 2021, Pullmantur Cruises will begin operating a new ship. Beforehand, it will undergo a 'Pullmanturizing' process at a European shipyard, meaning a renovation of the facilities and design, as well as a name change to align with Pullmantur Cruises' brand positioning.
Dedicated to the Spanish market, the ship will sail the seas of Northern Europe in its inaugural season. Featuring 20% suites and balcony cabins, it opens the door to new opportunities for Pullmantur Cruises passengers.
