The spirit of the Canary Islands Carnival will take over the last departure of the Zenith ship from Pullmantur Cruises –the only shipping company on the market that brings the Spanish lifestyle to the way of traveling on a cruise – this December.
Passengers embarking on the Canary Islands and Madeira route on December 28th or 29th ( in Gran Canaria or Tenerife, respectively) will travel to the fantasy, color, and magic of the islands and their carnival with a special program: Canarian Fest . The program includes a show featuring some of the most awarded drag queens of recent times, such as Drag Vulcano, Drag Gio, Drag Yshia, and Drag Sirius ; a party starring the Canarian artists Diamo n ds ; the Retumbaya batucada group ; the Aragüime carnival troupe ; and a body makeup exhibition by designers Leonor Martel and Melinda Padilla.
This event will also feature a performance by singer Cristina Ramos. The Canary Islander, winner of several international competitions, will leave the entire audience speechless with the versatility of her voice, which allows her to interpret all kinds of styles, from opera and rock to funk.

Specifically, on this trip, “we wanted to pay tribute to these wonderful islands, bringing their rich culture and one of their great symbols, the Carnivals; we want our passengers - international, mainland and Canarian - to immerse themselves in its rhythms and colors while saying goodbye to this year,” adds Vogel.
New Year's Eve in the Canary Islands and Madeira
During the 8 days and 7 nights of this journey, passengers will also be able to visit characteristic places of the Canary Islands, such as the impressive Maspalomas Dunes or the summit of Mount Teide, and of Madeira, without neglecting the atmosphere typical of these Christmas dates.
In this sense, in addition to the decorations and Christmas carols, this outing will feature a fun San Silvestre race on the deck of the ship, allowing the most athletic to say goodbye to the year by running in an incomparable setting.
That same day, on the night of December 31st, passengers can enjoy a very special New Year's Eve menu created for the occasion by Gastrolab, the cruise line's innovative culinary platform. Based on Spanish cuisine, the menu will feature traditional holiday treats such as ham and turrón. Of course, the traditional chimes and twelve grapes will also be present, helping passengers welcome 2020 in the best possible way.
In addition, passengers will witness one of the most spectacular fireworks displays: the Funchal New Year's fireworks, included in the Guinness Book of Records for being the largest in the world.
