Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (NCLH) today announced changes at the top of the Norwegian Cruise Line, with Harry Sommer taking over from Andy Stuart, President and CEO, following the launch of the Norwegian Encore.
Andy Stuart will leave his position on December 31, 2019, and will remain with the company as a Senior Advisor until March 31, 2020, to ensure a smooth transition.
Stuart started at Norwegian Cruise Line in 1988, where he has developed his professional career in all kinds of roles. “I could only have dreamed of my career at Norwegian when I joined the company in 1988, and I am very fortunate to have witnessed the incredible evolution of this pioneering brand,” he said.
“Andy has accomplished everything possible in the cruise industry, including leading the most innovative brand. He will be leaving on a high note following the delivery of the company’s newest ship, Norwegian Encore,” said Frank del Rio, President and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. “We are extremely grateful for his leadership and contributions to Norwegian Cruise Line, our company, and the industry.”

Sommer currently serves as International President for Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd., where he is responsible for sales, marketing, public relations, and office operations for Norwegian Cruise Line, Oceania Cruises, and Regent Seven Seas Cruises in all markets outside the U.S. and Canada. Previously, he held the position of Executive Vice President of International Business Development, among other senior roles within the company.
