The Mediterranean will host the first summer season of MSC Grandiosa
Staying true to the Mediterranean style, MSC Cruises will position 12 of its ships in this popular region. Among these, the MSC Grandiosa stands out, set to become the company's new flagship when it launches in November of this year. With weekly departures from Barcelona, it will call at Genoa, Civitavecchia, Palermo, Valletta, and Marseille. The new ship will offer a wealth of experiences, from world-class entertainment with the new Cirque du Soleil at Sea shows to a wide selection of international dining options, new family activities, and an enhanced MSC Yacht Club. Furthermore, the MSC Grandiosa will become the second MSC Cruises ship to offer ZOE, the world's first virtual personal cruise assistant, as well as new updates to the innovative MSC for Me.
Alongside MSC Grandiosa, three other ships will sail the Western Mediterranean in 2020: MSC Divina, MSC Fantasia and MSC Seaview, rediscovering the jewels of the continent:
- MSC Seaview will depart from Barcelona on Saturdays and head to Ajaccio, Genoa, La Spezia, Civitavecchia, Cannes, ending its route in Palma de Mallorca on Fridays, when it will also embark passengers, before returning to the Catalan capital.
- MSC Divina will also depart from Barcelona and stop in Genoa and Marseille, then go to Ibiza, ending its journey with visits to Naples and Livorno.
- For its part, MSC Fantasia will make a similar route to that of MSC Seaview but with departures from Palma de Mallorca and Valencia and with stops in Genoa, Civitavecchia, Palermo and Marseille.
Regarding the Eastern Mediterranean, MSC Cruises will offer up to six different cruises for all those seeking an unforgettable experience in this picturesque area:
- The itineraries of MSC Orchestra, MSC Musica, MSC Magnifica, MSC Sinfonia, MSC Lirica and MSC Opera will be from Venice to the Greek Islands and will bring the best of the Adriatic Sea to passengers; highlighting Dubrovnik, Mykonos and Santorini.
- For those simply looking for a few days of rest at sea, MSC Cruises offers mini-breaks of three to five days, where passengers can recharge and enjoy extraordinary views from the ship.
In Venice, the MSC Lirica stands out, as it will be visiting Sicily for the first time
The repertoire and multiple options offered by MSC Lirica for next summer will make it one of the most popular ships for sea lovers.
- On one hand, MSC Lirica will offer a seven-night cruise to the Gems of the Adriatic, departing on Fridays from Venice and then heading to Dubrovnik, Croatia; Corfu and Kefalonia in Greece; and Kotor, Montenegro, and Split in Croatia, before arriving at its new home port of Trieste. This cruise will feature longer stops in the ports of Dubrovnik, Split, Corfu, Kefalonia, and Kotor, giving passengers more time ashore to explore and discover these captivating destinations.
- This cruise will also sail for seven nights, calling at two of MSC Cruises' most popular ports of call: Valletta (Malta) and Dubrovnik (Croatia). Departing from Venice on Mondays, MSC Lirica will first head to Dubrovnik and stop at the Greek islands of Corfu and Kefalonia before arriving in Valletta. The final stop will be at the Archaeological Park of Syracuse, Italy, a new destination for MSC Cruises ships.
Exploring different areas of Asia will be possible aboard MSC Bellissima
Another major new feature for 2020 is that it will be possible to explore Asia aboard the MSC Bellissima.
- There will be three new itineraries and a selection of cruises of varying lengths. In June, July, and August, a six- or seven-night cruise will depart from Shanghai, Asia's shopping paradise, stop in Japan's second-largest city, Yokohama, and finally end in Osaka, a perfect blend of vibrant cities, street food markets, and stunning views and scenery.
- MSC Bellissima will also sail a nine-night route from Tokyo in October, offering passengers the chance to visit Wakyama, Hiroshima, and Matsuyama before arriving in Ganjeong, Korea, and then Yokohama, Japan. For Asia enthusiasts, there is also a selection of three- or four-night cruises to China and Japan.
Other destinations on board the MSC Cruises fleet
The sunny Caribbean is a must-see for cruise lovers. For the upcoming summer season, MSC Cruises will feature two new itineraries:
- During 2020, the iconic MSC Seaside will continue its Caribbean tour, sailing 7-night itineraries from Miami, experiencing the rhythm of Ocho Rios, the idyllic landscapes of George Town and the Mexican paradise of Cozumel.
- To complete the Western Caribbean itinerary, passengers will have the opportunity to sail in Italian style aboard the MSC Armonia. This ship will call at Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, Mexico, and Key West, Florida.
Both ships will also call at Ocean Cay, the new private island MSC Marine Reserve, which will officially open next November. This stunning island will allow passengers to discover a magnificent natural environment and immerse themselves in the spirit of the Bahamas.
Four more MSC Cruises ships will be sailing to Northern Europe in the summer 2020 season, a perfect opportunity to visit the gems of Scandinavia and Eastern Europe, including:
- Longer cruises of up to 14 nights will be offered on the MSC Preziosa, sailing from Hamburg through the Baltic, the Fjords, and to the North Cape. This cruise will also offer seven-night voyages from Hamburg to Le Havre, Southampton, Zeebrugge, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam.
- MSC Poesia, based in Warnemünde, will offer seven- and eleven-night Baltic cruises, visiting the Norwegian fjords and Baltic capitals. Passengers can enjoy a wider variety of destinations and combine two different itineraries without disembarking by booking a “butterfly cruise”[1]. A highlight of MSC Poesia will be its stunning 21-night cruise to Greenland and Iceland, two perfect destinations for adventurers and nature lovers.
- MSC Meraviglia, the ship designed to be enjoyed throughout the year, will return to Northern Europe on Saturdays, based in Kiel, Germany, and will offer a cultural journey around Copenhagen, Helsinki and St. Petersburg, as well as through the Fjords, including Hellesylt, Alesund and Flaam, Norway.

It will also visit the Fjords, including Bergen, Olden, Flåm, Stavanger, and the Baltic Sea.
