Barcelona, July 11, 2019 – Royal Caribbean International has revealed the new and innovative experiences that will be incorporated into the Allure of the Seas, an Oasis-class ship, as part of the Royal Amplified fleet refurbishment program. The ship will be refurbished at Navantia's facilities in Cádiz.
Passengers will be able to enjoy Europe's historic destinations from a new perspective next year aboard the amplified Allure of the Seas, which will incorporate exciting new activities.
The ship will open its cruise season with 7-night voyages in the Western Mediterranean from Barcelona, its home port, on May 10, 2020.
The ship will offer something for everyone. Depending on the time of day, passengers can test their emotions or relax in quieter areas like the pool or the sports area.
The favorites of families
These are the new features that the ship will include:
- The Ultimate Abyss, the tallest water slide in the sea
- ThePerfect Storm, a trio of water slides: Typhoon, Cyclone and Supercell
- Splashaway Bay, a water park for the little ones with three slides, fountains, pools, water cannons, as well as the Splash Pad, an area for babies.
- A renovated pool area, incorporating the exclusive Lime & Coconut bar, a wide range of spaces to relax in the shade with hammocks and "casita" style cabanas; new jacuzzis on the upper deck and a solarium just for adults.
The ship will incorporate new spaces, as well as Royal Caribbean's famous activities so that families can enjoy a dream vacation.
- A new Adventure Ocean, where the youngest children can choose their own immersive adventures: interactive activities, art, science and technological fun.
- Spacious areas for teenagers where they can enjoy a lounge with video game consoles, music, movies, as well as a new outdoor terrace
- Glow-in-the-dark laser tag in Clash for the Crystal City, enjoy the ultimate glow-in-the-dark laser tag battle: you decide which clan you belong to: the Yetis or the Snowshifters
- Royal Escape Room – Apollo 18: Lunar Landing, a puzzle that passengers will have to solve before time runs out.
A world of flavors
The Allure of the Seas will offer a wide variety of culinary options with more restaurants and bars joining the existing offerings.
- Giovanni's Italian Kitchen & Wine Bar, a new version of a passenger favorite, will offer the finest Italian cuisine accompanied by an incredible selection of wines and limoncello.
- Portside BBQ will serve a menu inspired by authentic American barbecues.
- Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade, the place to enjoy the best games with a more informal gastronomic offer.
- El Loco Fresh, authentic Mexican “street food”.
- Sugar Beach, the sweetest place on board with more than 220 types of sweets and ice cream.
- Bionic Bar by Makr Shakr, a cocktail bar staffed by two robot bartenders.
Renewed nightlife
The Allure of the Seas will incorporate new nightlife attractions to make the nights unforgettable:
- Music Hall, a favorite of the Quantum Class, features live music with the best cover bands and a great dance floor.
- Spotlight Karaoke, a karaoke bar with a main stage and private rooms, where passengers can put their singing skills to the test with thousands of songs to choose from on themed nights.
Starting in May 2020, the Allure of the Seas will offer 7-night cruises in the Western Mediterranean departing from Barcelona and visiting cities such as Palma de Mallorca, Spain; Provence (Marseille), France; Florence/Pisa (La Spezia), Rome (Civitavecchia) and Naples/Capri, Italy.
In November 2020, the Allure of the Seas will head to Miami for the winter season, where it will offer 7-night itineraries through the Eastern and Western Caribbean, including visits to the cruise line's new private island in The Bahamas, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
