Following significant growth in the number of cruise ports it operates in recent years and with strong prospects for new ports, Global Ports Holding Plc, the world's largest cruise port operator, has reorganized its cruise operations under a new regional structure. Under this new structure, three new regional directors have been appointed to manage the Eastern Mediterranean, the Western Mediterranean, and the Americas.
Javier Rodríguez, currently the company's Managing Director in Barcelona, will be appointed Regional Director for the Western Mediterranean, which includes Barcelona, Málaga, and Lisbon, and will also oversee the ports of Singapore. Aziz Gungor, currently Managing Director at Ege Port Kusadasi, will become Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, which currently includes the cruise ports of Ege Port, Bodrum, Antalya, Zadar, and Bar. Stephen Xuereb, Chief Operating Officer, will also serve as Regional Director for the Central Mediterranean, which includes Valletta, Cagliari, Catania, and Ravenna. Michael Maura Jr., who recently joined the company, will be the Regional Director for the Americas.
All regional directors will report to Stephen Xuereb, Chief Operating Officer.
