Star Clippers is offering a new excursion to its passengers on cruises departing from Ko Samui to discover the wonders of Angkor Wat temple in Cambodia. The four 10- or 11-night cruises in April and October will offer an optional stop in Sihanoukville, a two-day, one-night excursion to admire this iconic site.
Day 1 = Sihanoukville – Siem Reap
Upon disembarking, passengers will be transferred directly from the port to Keng Kong Airport for a domestic flight to Siem Reap, Angkor Wat Gateway (one-hour flight). Angkor Wat is the quintessential example of classical Khmer architecture. It has become a symbol of Cambodia and is featured on its national flag. It is the country's premier tourist destination. Passengers will also have the opportunity to visit Angkor Thom, the vast royal city, the heart of the archaeological site, and the pinnacle of the Angkor era.
Day 2: Siem Reap – Sihanoukville – Koh Rong
After an early breakfast, passengers will travel to Ta Prohm by bus. The temple was intentionally left in its original state, with some sections in ruins. During the visit, you'll see large fig tree roots growing and intertwined with the ruins. The Angkor Wat visit will culminate with an 8-minute helicopter flight along the beautiful moat (or an alternative program) that surrounds the temple complex.
