This refers to the expedition undertaken by Ferdinand Magellan and Juan Sebastián Elcano 500 years ago today, which remains one of the great milestones of our history.

In the first months of 2021, Cunard's flagship, the Queen Mary 2, will embark on a 100-day voyage that will take its passengers to the Far East. Departing from Southampton, UK, the ship will travel to the Horn of Africa before heading across the Indian Ocean to Australia. Southeast Asia will be the next stop before sailing through the Mediterranean to its home port, having visited a total of 22 countries with 34 UNESCO World Heritage Sites and destinations such as the exotic island of Mauritius, the stunning cityscape of Hong Kong, the magnificent Suez Canal, and the Greek city of Athens.
Coinciding with its sister ship, the Queen Victoria will begin its circumnavigation of the world in January with a fascinating 109-day itinerary that will visit 24 countries and 25 World Heritage Sites. From the incredible transatlantic crossing from the United Kingdom to the Caribbean, passing through the Panama Canal to dock in the paradisiacal and remote islands of the Pacific, then sailing the seas of Southeast Asia before returning to Europe along the coast of Africa, the route will take this Queen to the ports of San Francisco (USA), Honolulu (Hawaii), Sydney (Australia), Hong Kong, Singapore, and Cape Town (South Africa).
From late 2020, passengers aboard the Queen Elizabeth will embark on a very special adventure, characterized by its immersive itineraries in Australia and Japan. On these exotic voyages, the ship will sail through Oceania, visiting New Zealand and major Australian cities before continuing on to Japan and the most iconic destinations in Southeast Asia. A total of 10 countries will be visited, encompassing up to 24 World Heritage Sites and unique attractions such as Fjordland National Park, Bali and Jakarta (Indonesia), and Auckland (New Zealand).
