Intercruises offers more port operations services

Intercruises Shoreside & Port Services, a global company that provides shoreside and port operations services to the maritime and river cruise industry, has established a Global Port Operations Team that provides a wide range of services to ships and crew at destinations around the world.

Intercruises offers more port operations services

Since 2005, Intercruises has offered port agency services, but following strong growth and consistent demand for a wider range of services, a dedicated team has been established to provide a comprehensive catalog of port operations solutions. Cruise lines and third parties, such as concessionaires, can customize service agreements to meet their specific needs, ranging from one-off services to having Intercruises as their single point of contact for all port operations services, for all ships, in all ports.

The range of services offered is categorized as follows:

  • Agency: A range of services, from standard legal representation and coordination with the port agency, to full general agency, including support for itinerary planning and berth booking
  • Logistics: Solutions for both commercial scale and dry dock projects, including shipping, warehousing, transportation, and customs management
  • Crew: Services for crew members on board, embarking or disembarking, such as accommodation, transport, visas and legal representation, medical care and tours
  • Terminal: Management of services related to ship operations at the terminal, including security and baggage/stowage

“This is the natural evolution of this service area and allows for a high degree of customization, with cruise lines able to choose individual or multiple services as needed. A cruise line might contract us to manage a significant portion of its port operations worldwide, or it might want us to focus on a specific service in a particular port. Above all, it's about providing a consistent, efficient, and high-quality service tailored to the needs of our cruise line partners,” said Ramon Hurtado, Global Product & Operations Manager

The Global Port Operations Team works with cruise lines, ports, and Intercruises’ network of local office teams at destinations to ensure smooth operations and consistently high-quality service. The team is led by Robert Moroney, who joined Intercruises in January 2019 as Global Ports Operations Manager, based in Fort Lauderdale. Robert is supported by Miquel Biosca, Global Port Operations Business Development Manager, and Nohemí Alcaucer Marti, Global Logistics Manager. Both have been with Intercruises for several years and are based at Intercruises’ headquarters in Barcelona.
