Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean's premium cruise line, has announced its 2020-2021 itineraries, calling at more than 280 ports in 77 countries. Joining the fleet in 2020 is the Celebrity Apex (currently under construction at the French shipyard Chantiers de l'Atlantique), becoming the second ship in the revolutionary Edge class. The Celebrity Apex, along with the recently launched Celebrity Edge, will sail the warm waters of the Mediterranean during the summer of 2020.
In addition, Celebrity Cruises is modernizing a large part of its fleet: last year the cruise line unveiled the “Celebrity Revolution” program, a project with an investment of over $500 million to redesign its fleet. This project includes the renovation of suites and staterooms on the Celebrity Solstice, Celebrity Eclipse, Celebrity Equinox, and Celebrity Silhouette in 2020, as well as the dining spaces, which will offer a new culinary experience. These ships will join the Celebrity Millennium, Celebrity Summit, and Celebrity Equinox, which were renovated in 2019 .
Europe, a key destination for the company
Its sister ship, the Celebrity Edge, will spend the 2020 season in Europe, also offering Mediterranean cruises departing from Civitavecchia, Italy, for the second year running. With 10- and 11-night itineraries, it will take passengers to destinations such as Trieste, Italy; the Amalfi Coast, Malta; and the picturesque and warm Greek islands.
The Celebrity Silhouette will join these ships, following its participation in the Celebrity Revolution program, offering seven- to fourteen-night itineraries from Southampton, visiting Iceland and Ireland with stops in Dublin (Ireland) and Reykjavik (Iceland). Meanwhile, the Celebrity Constellation will offer immersive cruises in countries such as Italy and Greece.
On the other hand, theCelebrity Reflection will offer itineraries to Ireland and Iceland, 12-night voyages departing from and returning to Amsterdam, and a journey through Scandinavia, Russia, and the British Isles. It will also visit Rome, Israel, and Turkey. Meanwhile, the Celebrity Infinity will return to the Mediterranean with itineraries departing from Lisbon and visiting several Spanish cities, as well as Morocco. Finally, the Celebrity Summit also offers a transatlantic route connecting Europe and North America with a 14-night cruise from Cape Liberty, New York, to Dublin, and back to Boston.
The warm Caribbean, perfect for winter travel
After its summer season in Europe, the Celebrity Apex will spend its first winter in the Caribbean. On a seven-night cruise, it will sail through the Caribbean, stopping in cities such as San Juan (Puerto Rico), Florida, Costa Maya, and the Cayman Islands, among others. The Celebrity Edgewill also sail this route, departing every Sunday from Fort Lauderdale.
The Celebrity Equinox will offer 9- or 12-night itineraries during the winter months, visiting Virginia, Barbados, Aruba, Curaçao, and the Cayman Islands, among other destinations. Meanwhile, the Celebrity Infinity will sail four- or five-night itineraries departing from Miami to various Caribbean destinations. Additionally, the Celebrity Summitwill return to Puerto Rico during the winter, and the Celebrity Reflection will offer 10- and 11-night itineraries to the most exclusive locations in the Caribbean, as well as Costa Rica and Panama.
Exotic destinations
Following their participation in the Celebrity Revolution program, both the Celebrity Constellation and the Celebrity Millennium will offer cruises to Asia, India, and Dubai with longer stays, allowing passengers to enjoy more immersive experiences. Meanwhile, the Celebrity Silhouette will sail to South America for the first time, taking passengers to more than 30 cities, including Rio de Janeiro, Peru, and Buenos Aires.
Fresh out of dry dock and revitalized, the Celebrity Eclipse will sail to its new homeport of Melbourne, Australia, offering eight- to 14-night cruises to Australia and New Zealand. Its sister ship, the Celebrity Solstice, will be based in Sydney, and together they will visit more than 40 destinations with four unique Hawaiian itineraries on 10- to 13-night cruises, offering passengers the chance to island-hopping.
The Celebrity Flora, the company's most environmentally friendly ship, will sail exclusively through the Galapagos Islands with departures from Baltra year-round.
In addition, Celebrity Cruises returns to Alaska as a destination, visiting 12 ports of call across Canada and the United States. The Celebrity Eclipse will sail a 7-night itinerary from Vancouver, exploring the entire West Coast, while the Celebrity Millennium, refurbished in 2019, will offer two 7-night cruises, one from Vancouver, British Columbia, and the other from Seward, Alaska. Meanwhile, the Celebrity Solsticereturns to Alaska with a 7-night itinerary from Seattle, and the Celebrity Eclipse will travel along the Pacific Coast, from San Diego to Vancouver.
