(WASHINGTON, D.C., January 8, 2019) – The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), the cruise industry’s leading trade organization, announced yesterday that its Board of Directors has appointed Adam M. Goldstein, Vice Chairman of Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., as its Global Chairman, effective January 1, 2019. Goldstein succeeds Arnold Donald, President and Chief Executive Officer of Carnival Corporation & Plc., who has served as CLIA Global Chairman since January 2017.
“I am honored to assume this role again and look forward to continuing the great work Arnold Donald has done during his tenure as president,” said Goldstein. “As the cruise industry continues to grow globally, it is extraordinarily important that we work together to ensure a positive experience for our guests and the destinations we visit. Adam M. Goldstein previously served as CLIA's Global Chairman in 2015 and 2016 and has remained on CLIA's Global Executive Committee for the past two years. In addition to his more than 30 years of experience with Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., he has served as Chairman of the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association, CLIA's sister organization.
