Genoa, December 12, 2018. Costa Cruises has opened sales for its itineraries between April 2020 and April 2021, available for booking starting today through travel agencies and online. The Italian cruise line's new offerings reflect its commitment to continuous innovation and providing a product tailored to its guests' preferences.
With a wide range of new features available from April 2020 and the most successful itineraries of recent years, Costa Cruises aims to continue attracting its most loyal customers, but also to encourage those travelers who have never been on a cruise to live an unforgettable experience.
The Costa Smeralda, the company's new flagship and the first cruise ship powered by Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) – the world's cleanest fossil fuel – will make its debut in October 2019 and will become the centerpiece of Costa's new offerings. In the 2020/21 season, this ship will offer a week-long itinerary through the Western Mediterranean, with embarkation from various ports for passenger convenience: Savona, Marseille, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Civitavecchia (Rome), and La Spezia.
The new Costa Smeralda will be a true tribute to Italy, offering a unique travel experience inspired by the style, hospitality, and warmth of the "Bel Paese." Onboard, guests can enjoy a museum dedicated to Italian design, as well as eleven restaurants and bars serving the delights of Italian food and drink.
Itineraries designed for all types of guests
The company's offer for the 2020/21 season includes a wide selection of itineraries designed to cater to the diverse range of customers of the Italian company.
- The new season includes 11-day cruises aboard the Costa Victoria departing from Tarragona and stopping in Toulon (France), Menorca, Ajaccio (Corsica) and the island of Elba.
- In addition, the Costa Diadema will begin offering a completely new itinerary that includes Savona, Naples, Palermo, Valencia, and Marseille. During the summer, passengers can enjoy a longer stop in Ibiza.
- Costa's presence in Genoa will increase thanks to the arrival of the Costa Pacifica every Friday.
- Meanwhile, Costa Deliziosa and Costa Luminosa will sail along the coasts of Greece and Croatia with departures from Venice and Bari, while Costa Mediterranea will offer a summer itinerary through the Greek Islands departing from Bari.
- Another major new offering from the company is its new World Cruise. A trip that embodies every traveler's dream and which the Italian company has offered annually since 2011. The World Cruise aboard the Costa Deliziosa, departing from Savona on January 8, 2021, will follow an unprecedented route dedicated to Africa and the Americas, including destinations such as India, the Maldives, South Africa, Tierra del Fuego, Chile, Peru, and New York.
- Costa's offerings in Dubai, a destination the company pioneered in 2006, will also be expanded. The Costa Diadema will begin operating in Dubai in October 2020, allowing guests to visit Expo 2020, which opens on October 20 of that year. The itinerary, available until March 2021, is perfect for enjoying Dubai—with a two-day stopover—before sailing on to Muscat, Doha, and Abu Dhabi.
- In Northern Europe, during the summer season of 2020, the Costa Fascinosa will be the ship that allows travelers to discover Gothenburg or the Norwegian fjords of Stavanger and Geiranger. Meanwhile, theCosta Fortuna will sail through the fjords of Iceland, the United Kingdom, and Ireland, the Costa Favolosa will sail around the North Cape , and the Costa Magica will explore the most beautiful cities of the Baltic.
- Due to the excellent response received in previous years, the 2020/21 winter season will also include cruises to the most paradisiacal destinations in the Caribbean, South America, India, Maldives, Mauritius, Madagascar and the Far East.
In addition, Costa has included a pleasant surprise for all members of CostaClub, Costa Cruises' loyalty program.The company has unveiled two 15-day cruises with unique itineraries, exclusively for its members. The first will depart on April 14, 2020, aboard the Costa Fortuna to explore the Azores , and the second will depart on November 22, 2020, aboard the Costa Magica bound for the Holy Land.
