Miami, November 13, 2018 – Carnival Cruise Line today announced the exciting inaugural 2020 schedule for Carnival Radiance, which includes 9- to 13-day voyages in Europe, first-ever sailings to Cuba from New York and Norfolk, 4- to 9-day routes to the Caribbean, Canada and New England from New York, and a winter season with routes to the Caribbean and Cuba from Port Canaveral.
Carnival Radiance's inaugural 2020 season
Following a $200 million refurbishment at the Navantia shipyards in Cádiz, the Carnival Radiance will debut on April 29, 2020, with a 10-day Mediterranean cruise departing from Barcelona. This will be followed by 9- and 12-day cruises visiting the region's top destinations, including Italy, France, Croatia, Greece, Malta, and Spain. The ship will then cross the Atlantic from June 11 to 24, departing from Barcelona and arriving in New York, kicking off the New York City cruise season.
Once in New York, the Carnival Radiance will offer a series of 4- and 6-day cruises to Bermuda, as well as 4-day cruises to Saint John, New Brunswick, 8-day Caribbean cruises, and the company's first-ever cruises to Cuba from New York—9-day itineraries that include a full day and overnight stay in Havana and two port calls in the Bahamas. The New York schedule will conclude with a series of cruises to Canada and New England with stops in Boston, Portland, Saint John, and Halifax.
The ship will also offer 5- to 7-day cruises from Norfolk in October and November 2020, including the first cruises to Cuba from that port.
After those voyages, the ship will be based in Port Canaveral, to operate winter cruises to the Caribbean and Cuba beginning on November 8, 2020.
The Carnival Sunrise will be the star attraction in Bermuda and Cuba
Following the success of the short Bermuda cruises introduced by the Carnival Horizon, the Carnival Sunrise will offer a series of “long weekend” getaways to Bermuda as well as longer Caribbean and Cuba cruises from the Big Apple beginning May 21, 2020.
The program includes 8- and 9-day cruises to Cuba with full days and nights in Havana, as well as on the private island of Half Moon Cay and Nassau, Bahamas. There will also be eight shorter, four-day cruises to Bermuda departing on Thursdays and returning on Mondays.
Exciting new features on board
The Carnival Sunrise and Carnival Radiance will undergo extensive dry-dock refurbishments in 2019 and 2020, respectively, adding a host of new dining, beverage, and entertainment options. New additions include Guy's Pig & Anchor Bar-B-Que Smokehouse, the classic American steakhouse Fahrenheit 555, and the Italian restaurant Cucina del Capitano, as well as the Caribbean-inspired RedFrog Pub. The Carnival Radiance will also feature Big Chicken, an at-sea version of the land-based restaurant operated by Chief Fun Officer and NBA star Shaquille O'Neal.
A new WaterWorks water park will be added, featuring the new AquaTunnel slide, as well as the SportSquare outdoor sports and recreation complex, including a treetop adventure course. All cabins will be renovated with a tropical color scheme.
