The ultra-luxury cruise line celebrated the launch of its first ship at the Hijos de J. Barreras shipyard in Vigo last Tuesday, October 8th. The bishop of the Tui-Vigo diocese blessed the vessel as it gently glided into the waters of the Vigo estuary.
The CEO of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, Douglas Prothero, as well as Timothy Grisius, Global Real Estate Officer of Marriott International, Fredik Johansoon, owner and Chief Project Officer, and José García Costas, President of Hijos de J. Barreras, witnessed the maneuver, which also included the participation of local and regional authorities, suppliers, shipyard workers and other personnel involved.
The launch took place three weeks ahead of schedule, indicating that the work is progressing well. The exterior of the spacecraft is practically complete, and work will now begin to outfit the interior before its launch in early 2020. The christening ceremony will take place in December 2019, and the maiden voyage will depart in February 2020.
