Princess Cruises has revealed that the Caribbean Princess, a cruise ship with a capacity of 3,140 passengers, is the first ship in its fleet to incorporate the Ocean Medallion with all
its features. The Ocean Medallion is about the size of a one-euro coin, is fully automatic, and has no power buttons or charging function. From now on, all passengers can enjoy this wearable device, which offers a much more personalized onboard experience.
Its features include, for example, streamlining the boarding and disembarking process, making entry and exit faster; keyless access to cabins; and promoting interaction between crew members and other passengers. Now, for instance, staff can see a traveler's food and beverage preferences. Another new feature is the integration of the 'Ocean Compass' app, which allows users to see the locations of family and friends on board.
The device also provides real-time updates on the itinerary and onboard activities or events via information screens located on the decks. In addition, it includes access to interactive games through monitors available on the ship, including trivia and treasure hunts throughout the vessel, as well as a selection of casino games such as poker, bingo, and roulette, available on smart devices and selected screens. The Caribbean Princess now also features Medallion Net, which allows passengers to browse the internet at higher speeds, as if they were on land.

The Ocean Medallion was unveiled by Carnival Corporation CEO Arnold Donald in 2017. This addition is part of the fleet's phased activation plan, and further
updates will be announced in the future. Several departures are now available, embarking and disembarking in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. These cruises are available in 8, 11, or 15-day lengths. Ports of call include the Bahamas, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, and the Turks & Caicos Islands, starting from €731.
