The winners of the Seatrade Cruise Awards were announced last night as part of the Seatrade Cruise Med welcome reception in Pato da Galé, Lisbon, Portugal.
The awards were presented by Mary Bond, Managing Director Publishing & Content, Seatrade, along with Ingo Soerensen, Area VP, Global Cruises Sales, Oracle Hospitality, the awards' main sponsor.
In its 12th edition, three awards were given to outstanding individuals of the year. First, Fred Danska, Cruise Director at Wärtsilä, received the Outstanding Contribution Award for being one of the first to champion Liquefied Natural Gas as a clean alternative to fuel oil engines.
Next, Betty MacMillan, Cruise Development Manager of Port Saint John, was awarded Seatrade Port Personality for 2018, for her long career of 30 years promoting a port that this year will be close to receiving 200,000 passengers.
Douglas Prothero, CEO of The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, was the third award winner, receiving the Seatrade Cruise Personality of the Year 2018, sponsored by V. Ships Leisure.
Among the list of award winners in the industry, we highlight the Supplier of the Year award for the Spanish boarding bridge company ADELTE.
