Madrid, September 18, 2018– Pullmantur Cruises – the only cruise line in the market that brings the Spanish lifestyle to the cruise experience – has appointed Yordan Yordanov as Director of Technical Ship Management. This marks another step in his professional career within the company, which he joined in 2007 and where he has held various positions of responsibility.
Reporting directly to Benny Weidacher, in the Madrid offices, Yordanov's main responsibilities include planning dry dock projects; coordinating and supervising technical services and ship maintenance; and managing the budget for his area.
In his day-to-day work, Yordanov collaborates closely with the technical teams on board as well as with Global Marine Operations, the department responsible for coordinating maritime operations within the Group.
According to Pullmantur Cruises President & CEO Richard J. Vogel, this appointment is “the result of the great work and commitment that Yordanov has shown since joining and is yet another example of the professional growth opportunities that exist in our company.”
In this regard, Vogel points out: “both his experience in the sector and his knowledge and familiarity with our ships are key aspects in ensuring the success of Yordan Yordanov's work in his new position.”
Yordanov began his professional career on cargo ships in 2001, where he remained until 2007, when he joined Pullmantur Cruises. Since then, he has held various positions of responsibility, always within the Engine department. Prior to this latest promotion, he had served as Chief Engineer aboard several ships in the fleet since 2010.
