Seabourn, the world's most modern ultra-luxury cruise line belonging to Carnival Corporation, has signed a letter of intent for the construction of two new ultra-luxury expedition yachts at the Italian shipyards T. Mariotti & Damen.
The new yachts will feature an innovative design, created specifically for the ultra-luxury expedition traveler, and will include some of the successful features of current Seabourn yachts, as well as new facilities designed to enhance the guest experience. Both yachts will meet the highest safety standards for polar classes (PC6), will be 170 meters long, have a displacement of 23,000 tons, and can accommodate 264 guests in 132 suites with private balconies. The first will be launched in June 2012 and the second in May 2022. They will offer Arctic and Antarctic itineraries during the austral summer, as well as various exotic routes around the world.

Both yachts will offer services designed for an unparalleled experience in some of the world's most remote areas, including two submarines for exploring the seabed and equipment currently offered by the Ventures by Seabourn, such as kayaks and Zodiacs. Seabourn offers the ultimate in ultra-luxury travel aboard yachts with key features such as spacious suites with private balconies, exquisite cuisine curated by renowned chefs, all-inclusive service, and impeccable attention to detail, all within a sophisticated and relaxed atmosphere designed to make guests feel right at home. These new expedition yachts will join the existing fleet— Seabourn Quest, Odyssey, Sojourn, Encore, and Seabourn Ovation, launched in May 2018—which sails to the world's most captivating ports, including more than 170 UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Details regarding itineraries and the opening date for bookings of Seabourn's new yachts, as well as the names of the vessels, will be available in early 2019.
