The youngest member of the AIDA fleet will begin sailing the seven seas from December 2018.
The AIDAnova is currently at the Meyer shipyard in Papenburg, receiving its signature smile, the iconic symbol of the company's vessels. The exterior paintwork, featuring lips, eyes, eyelids, and waves, is applied to all AIDA ships based on an idea by Rostock artist Feliks Büttner. The smile already adorns 250 square meters of the ship's bow, and 50 liters of black, orange, and red paint will be needed to complete the application of the brand's logo.
On August 31st, at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany, the christening of the AIDAnova will take place during the AIDA Open Air, accompanied by a dazzling presentation and a fireworks display.
Starting next December, AIDAnova will begin its first season with cruises to the Canary Islands from Hamburg.
