Madrid, May 29, 2018 – Pullmantur Cruises – the only cruise line on the market that brings the Spanish lifestyle to the cruise experience – launches Somos Trotanautas (We), its innovative onboard children's entertainment program based on human intelligence. This unique offering – which begins the moment children board – has been developed by psychologists and experts in children's entertainment and includes, for the first time, activities designed for children up to 3 years old (always accompanied by their parents).
According to Richard J. Vogel, President & CEO of Pullmantur Cruises, entertainment is “a fundamental pillar of the onboard experience for guests, regardless of their age.” For this reason, “and as part of our continuous improvement process, we wanted to innovate by launching a revolutionary program that combines fun with learning while fostering the values of friendship, teamwork, and environmental stewardship.”

The Trotanautas gang and the 1000 Bubble Ship
We Are Trotanautas revolves around the Trotanautas gang, made up of six graphic characters who represent six of the eight human intelligences: naturalist (Flor), spatial (Leonard), linguistic (Eme), musical (Sol), bodily-kinesthetic (As), and logical (Mercury). Each member has a special skill so that all children can identify with a Trotanauta. Meanwhile, the other two intelligences (interpersonal and intrapersonal) are addressed throughout all the activities. For the youngest children (up to 3 years old) Zip, the most innocent character in the group, has been created.
Thus, from the moment they board, the children become Trotanautas and receive their passports, where they stamp all their adventures. They will also learn the Trotanauta greeting and language, as well as their own song.
Every day, along with the rest of their crewmates and always accompanied by the Trotacoaches, they face a new, fun, and unexpected mission proposed by Dr. Pull, which will bring them countless surprises. The team's objective is to put an end to the misdeeds of the Plastifetid Monster, a repulsive, grumpy, and boring creature who is determined to ruin all the fun on board.
The missions—spread throughout the day—are tailored to the ages of the participants, who are divided into groups of up to 3 years old (always accompanied by their parents), 3 to 6 years old, and 7 to 11 years old. Highlights include family challenges (such as scavenger hunts), Trotafiestas (including a Gala Night for the youngest participants), hands-on activities, and special workshops that will take participants on a journey across the ship to discover hidden gems.
In addition, the Trotanauta community has La Nave 1000 Burbujas, a new space on board whose decoration simulates a fun submarine and which becomes the home port of the whole gang.
New adventures every season
Throughout 2018, the Trotanautas will face the adventure of "The Plastifetid Monster's Threat," and Pullmantur Cruises will renew the proposal each year so that the most loyal guests can live different experiences, continue having fun and learning on board.
Somos Trotanautas has premiered on the Sovereign ship and will be progressively implemented on the rest of the fleet, reaching the Horizon ship in June and the Monarch and Zenith from November.
This program is included within the onboard entertainment offer and is free of charge.
