Princess Cruises will launch a new program of activities on its Caribbean Princess ship next May , including island-themed offerings, the "Parrots in Piazza" show featuring parrots and macaws, stargazing workshops, "Tales at Sea" featuring treasure hunters, and pirate-themed activities for the whole family. The company will implement these new offerings on other cruises sailing the same route throughout the year.
Princess Cruises is revamping the experience aboard its 3,150-capacity Caribbean Princess ship through a program called 'Rhythm of the Caribbean' featuring activities inspired by Caribbean and naval culture.
Among the new features included in this program are gastronomic proposals such as a menu inspired by island cuisine, which includes local dishes such as Jamaican chicken, red snapper, Creole black mussels or crèmebrulée , as well as cocktails with Caribbean rum, piña colada or mojitos.
Another highlight is the focus on interacting with the local nature. A prime example is the 'Parrots in Piazza' show, where travelers can interact with Caribbean parrots and macaws in the cruise ship's atrium to learn about their behavior and habits.
This program also includes a planetarium experience, in which Caribbean Princess, in collaboration with Discovery Channel, will host a stargazing workshop on deck, allowing guests to learn about the constellations, the moon, the planets, and the galaxies visible from the Caribbean night sky.
In 'History at Sea', another of the new recreational activities included in the program, the ship will feature professional treasure hunters who will entertain passengers with stories of lost treasures and recovery expeditions. Also, on specific voyages, Martin Graff, a veteran diver specializing in shark-infested areas, will share his experiences encountering these fearsome marine predators.
In addition, the cruise will feature pirate-themed activities for the whole family, especially those where children can talk, dance, or dress up as a corsair.
Regarding all the new features included in this new program, the Vice President of Princess Cruises in the UK and Europe, Tony Roberts, emphasizes the importance that the company places on Caribbean life, both on board and outside the cruise ship facilities through the variety of shore excursions.
