The Sapphire Princess is now sailing towards the UK. Having arrived from Singapore, where it completed a major refurbishment, the 2,670-passenger cruise ship is headed to the port of Southampton, from where it will begin operating voyages between May and October 2018, as well as from April to October 2019. The Mediterranean and Northern Europe will be its main destinations, along with a 24-day voyage to Canada and New England. For these itineraries, the ship boasts improved spaces and new amenities, including a new luxury bed.
Princess Cruises has completed a major refurbishment of its 2,670-passenger Sapphire Princess cruise ship. Carried out in Singapore, the refurbishment culminated in improvements to various spaces and the addition of new products, including a new Effy fine jewelry boutique, as well as upgrades to the spa and treatment rooms, fitness equipment, a new large-scale LED screen (15 by 4.5 meters) for the theater, and the installation of the Princess Cruises logo on the ship's bow.
A highlight, and exclusive feature, is the introduction of a new luxury bed, which will be permanently installed in every stateroom next June. This bed, designed specifically for Princess Cruises, includes fine linens, enhanced mattress support, and a king-size available in down or hypoallergenic microfiber.
For the design and production of the bed, Princess collaborated with Dr. Michael Breus, a board-certified sleep expert and consultant for the American health corporation WebMD. The bed received the highest rating for 'best cruise ship beds' from the website CruiseCritic.
The ship, which is already sailing to the UK, will operate round-trip cruises from Southampton between May and October in 2018. In 2019, the season will run from April to October. The Mediterranean and Northern Europe will be the main destinations for these cruises, as well as a 24-day voyage to Canada and New England in 2019.
