Ahead of its 2019 World Cruise, Silver Whisper, one of Silversea's ultra-luxury ships, will undergo extensive refurbishment in 2018. From December 8 to 19, Silver Whisper will be in dry dock in Freeport, Bahamas, as upgrades are made to further enhance its already exceptional guest experience. The announcement follows the opening of sales for Silversea's groundbreaking 2020 World Cruise, which will see Silver Whisper travel to all seven continents, including Antarctica, as part of an unprecedented itinerary.
Guests embarking on the Silver Whisper will benefit from a wide array of upgrades: many of the ship's public areas , both inside and out, will be revitalized with fresh décor, and all suites will be refurbished with designs and features similar to those found on Silversea's recently delivered flagship, the Silver Muse , and on the Silver Spirit , which is currently undergoing a significant refurbishment.
The most noticeable impact of the renovation will be on the ship's public spaces, which will be redecorated in keeping with the interior design of the Silver Muse. New carpeting will be installed in the corridors, the main restaurant, the casino, the conference room, the main bar, and the theater. The main restaurant will undergo a complete overhaul, bringing it to an exceptional standard, while La Dame, another sophisticated space, will benefit from new draperies and polished flooring. The casino and conference room will also be refreshed with new draperies and chairs. The Zagara Spa, recently unveiled on the Silver Whisper, following its success aboard the Silver Muse, will be made even more luxurious with new furnishings and equipment. State-of-the-art equipment will be installed in the ship's gym to enhance the onboard wellness facilities.
Guest accommodations will also be enhanced in accordance with the Silver Muse to ensure maximum traveler comfort: five of the nine Terrace on deck will be transformed into Veranda Suites, offering guests greater privacy; 40" flat-screen TVs, loaded with innovative interactive media systems, will enhance in-room entertainment options; and all bathrooms will be revitalized with polished granite surfaces.
Outside, a storage space for Zodiac® boats will be installed , and preparations will be made to place a crane for the motorboats before the 2020 World Cruise; as a result, guests traveling aboard the Silver Whisper on the 2020 World Cruise will be able to access more remote locations thanks to these vehicles.
From the selection of films available in guest suites to the scents assigned to each space, every aspect of the renovation project has been conceived with guest comfort in mind. Even the background music on Silver Whisper is undergoing a transformation: Silversea is partnering with Radiopark, a specialist ambient music provider, to enhance the ship's atmosphere with modern versions of timeless melodies.
The Silver Whisper 's refurbishment is just one part of Silversea's extensive investment in its renowned fleet.
