Madrid – March 5, 2018 – MSC Cruises, the world’s largest privately owned cruise line and industry leader in Europe, South America, and South Africa, today announced the start of sales for MSC Grandiosa. In its inaugural season, the highly anticipated first ship of the Meraviglia-Plus generation will set sail from the Western Mediterranean in November 2019. Sales begin today exclusively for members of the MSC Voyagers Club, the loyalty program for MSC Cruises passengers, while sales for all other passengers will begin on March 19.

This represents the evolution of the already successful Meraviglia prototype, first unveiled just nine months ago. The ship will feature new Cirque du Soleil At Sea shows, created exclusively for MSC Grandiosa passengers by Cirque du Soleil, the world's leading entertainment company. The long-term partnership between MSC Cruises and Cirque du Soleil will offer a total of eight original shows across all four Meraviglia-class ships in the MSC Cruises fleet, with this being the third ship to feature the Cirque du Soleil At Sea entertainment concept.
MSC Grandiosa will offer a grand Mediterranean-style voyage, featuring the exclusive innovations of the MSC Meraviglia and MSC Meraviglia Plus prototypes. Onboard, you'll find a wide variety of shops and specialty restaurants, as well as a new bar, L'Atelier Bistrot, which will offer a lounge with a stage and a dance floor. There will also be Impressionist art exhibitions and a Parisian-style bistro terrace open all day.
MSC Grandiosa will offer its passengers a memorable experience with MSC Cruises, highlighting:
- Seven nights in the stunning Western Mediterranean, with stops in six Mediterranean ports: Barcelona, Genoa, Civitavecchia, Palermo, Valletta, and Marseille. While in port, passengers can enjoy a wide variety of shore activities tailored to the needs of different types of travelers, from families to adventurous couples, allowing them to immerse themselves in the unique culture and history of each destination.
- New family and entertainment activitieshave been added to our already extensive and award-winning program. The DOREMI Lab will offer new themes every day, while the DOREMI Studio Lounge will let children experience the magic of music, recording songs and starring in their own music videos. This wide variety of activities guarantees an unforgettable holiday for children of all ages.
- The Mediterranean-style promenade will be the ship's central hub, featuring a wide variety of shops and specialty restaurants. The promenade will host surprise performances, such as flash mobs and themed parties, as well as stunning projections both day and night on the 80-meter LED Sky screen.
- The industry-leading MSC for Me digital innovation program will allow passengers to personalize their vacations and enhance their cruise experience. As the company evolves and innovates its digital offerings, passengers will discover new features and enjoy a connected cruise experience tailored to their individual needs.
- Onboard dining options include a selection of at least 12 different venues, from specialty restaurants to buffets, serving quality food daily. A new dining concept, exclusive to MSC Aurea Experience passengers, will also be available on the promenade.
- MSC Yacht Club will continue to offer the most discerning cruise passengers a luxurious stay with a “yacht within the ship” concept, which includes exclusive features such as the elegant Top Sail Lounge, the impressive One Pool Deck, the private restaurant and butler service.
MSC Grandiosa is designed to sail year-round and can dock at most international cruise ports worldwide. With a displacement of 181,000 tons and a capacity for 6,334 passengers, this new ship will become the largest in the MSC Cruises fleet to date. The ship will feature the latest environmental technology available at sea, including the most advanced hybrid exhaust gas cleaning systems, SCR catalysts, state-of-the-art recycling and waste management equipment, heat and energy recovery systems to reduce emissions, and highly advanced wastewater treatment.
When booking a cruise aboard MSC Grandiosa, MSC Voyagers Club members will receive a special 5% early bird discount, in addition to their 5% loyalty discount.
