Barcelona, Spain – January 24, 2018 – Celebrity Cruises' newest ship, the Celebrity Edge, has completed another step in its construction process. The Celebrity Edge, which will lend its name to a new class, has just left dry dock at the STX France shipyard.
“This is truly an exciting moment,” said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises. “Leaving dry dock marks a milestone for Celebrity Edge. With exterior construction complete, the STX France team will now focus all their attention and effort on bringing to life the staterooms, suites, and other meticulously designed spaces.”
Celebrity Edge will spend its inaugural season alternating seven-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries in 2018, before moving to the Mediterranean to offer stunning Mediterranean views with a variety of seven- to 11-night departures from iconic cities such as Barcelona and Rome in 2019.
Based in Fort Lauderdale, the Celebrity Edge will make its maiden voyage on November 21, 2018. The Celebrity Edge will be joined by three sister ships in 2020, 2021, and 2022.
