Saga Cruises has confirmed its plans to build a second cruise ship at the Meyer Werft shipyard. It will be named Spirit of Adventure and is expected to be ready in the summer of 2020, a year after the Spirit of Discovery enters service in July 2019.
Both ships will be built at the Meyer Werft shipyards in Papenburg, with a capacity for 999 passengers in 58,250 gross tons, with balconies in all cabins and maintaining the familiarity and personalization for which Saga is recognized.

To date, almost 7,000 passengers who had pre-registered to sail on her have already booked one of our new itineraries. This is a phenomenal 80% conversion rate. Thanks to this strong demand, the desire of Saga members to continue doing the things they love, and the anticipated growth in the cruise industry, I am absolutely delighted that today we are confirming the construction of a second ship, the Spirit of Adventure, with delivery in summer 2020.”.
