The Italian shipyard Fincantieri has launched the Seabourn Ovation at its facilities in Sestri, Genoa.
This is the sister ship of the Seabourn Encore, launched by the company in late 2016, and will be ready to enter service in spring 2018. With a gross tonnage of 40,350 and a capacity for 600 passengers in double occupancy, it belongs to the luxury cruise ship category. Its length is 210 meters and its beam 28 meters, with a cruising speed of 18.6 knots. Seabourn is the luxury brand of the Carnival group.
The launching ceremony was attended by the company's Chairman, Richard Meadows, and the Director of the Sestri Ponente shipyard, Paolo Capobianco
