Royal Caribbean has registered two new trademarks with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, two trademarks that appear to be cruise ship names. These new trademarks are Apex of the Seas and Joy of the Seas, and they were registered on June 27, 2017.
Royal Caribbean had previously registered both trademarks in September 2014, but they were not renewed at the time, so they were cancelled the following year, in 2015.
The registration comes just days after Royal Caribbean registered a similar trademark, Spectrum of the Seas. The cruise company has not yet announced its intentions regarding these trademarks.
Royal Caribbean currently has six ships on order and/or under construction, although two of the ships already have associated names: Symphony of the Seas and Icon of the Seas.
