The Saga Pearl II has docked in Castellón with 500 passengers on board, most of them British. This is not the first time this cruise line has chosen Castellón as a cruise destination. It first docked in Castellón on October 7, 2011, and returned in 2013 with two more calls, the ship having been renamed Quest for Adventure. The company has also already arranged with the Port of Castellón to receive another cruise ship in 2018, the Saga Sapphire.
Once in port, around 154 tourists booked some of the offered excursions: the San José de La Vall d'Uixó caves, Peñíscola, and Valencia. The rest opted to explore Castellón. A total of four shuttle buses were provided for this purpose, three for passengers and one for the crew, to ensure they could travel quickly and comfortably to the city center throughout the day.
The President of the Port Authority, Francisco Toledo, presented the traditional plaque to the ship's captain, Mr. Cornelis Spekman. Francisco Toledo expressed his gratitude for the Saga Pearl II's commitment to the Port of Castellón and reiterated the ongoing work, in conjunction with the Cruise Committee, to attract more cruise ships to PortCastelló.
