Below is a brief overview of these enrichment activities:
Opera Cruises in collaboration with Accademia Teatro alla Scala – Based in Milan, Italy, Accademia Teatro alla Scala is one of the world's leading performing arts academies. Soloists from its Opera Academy and a piano accompanist will perform a selection of opera's most beautiful librettos for Silversea guests aboard three Mediterranean cruises: two aboard Silver Spirit, the June 25th voyage to Lisbon featuring a special appearance by opera star Luciana Serra, and the September 21st voyage from Athens to Venice. The third will be on Silver Muse on July 15th, sailing from Athens to Rome.
Cruises featuring acclaimed Russian solo dancers – Daria Khokhlova and Artemy Belyakov, ballet performers from Russia’s Bolshoi State Theatre, return to Silversea for exclusive Mediterranean voyages on the Silver Spirit on August 25 and September 3.
Ballet cruise with L'Opéra de Paris star – L'Opéra de Paris solo artist Jean-Sébastien Colau will dazzle audiences with his artistry when he and a partner take to the stage aboard the Silver Whisper on June 16 in Northern Europe and on October 23 from Montreal to New York.
Gastronomic journeys and the art of wine – A collection of trips highlighting the culinary arts with guest chefs and winemakers:
– On June 14, the “Champagne Cruise” from Lisbon to Rouen will offer tastings and special classes on board, as well as a shore excursion in partnership with Pommery Champagne.
-On October 7th, the "Flavors of the Mediterranean" cruise aboard Silver Spirit, together with guest chefs Umberto Menghi and Michael Jacob, organizes culinary demonstrations, visits to markets, gala dinners and gastronomic excursions on land.
- On October 8, the “Relais & Châteaux® Gourmet Cruise” aboard the Silver Shadow will welcome guests with Relais & Châteaux guest chef Dominique Bouchet, owner of the eponymous Tokyo restaurant. He will be responsible for gala dinners and culinary demonstrations. Cooking classes will also be offered during this voyage by L'École de Chefs, presented by Silversea Corporate Chef David Bilsland.
- The “Wine Cruise” departing on October 23rd, the Silver Spirit, in association with Comitato Grandi Cru d'Italia, an association of Italian winemakers, and the Professional Association of Italian Sommeliers (ASPI), presents a wine enrichment program that will highlight a collection of some of Italy's finest vintages with sommeliers Gennaro Buono and Giuseppe Vaccarini to guide and educate guests in the art of winemaking.
- On October 25, the "Culinary Expedition" aboard the Silver Explorer, during its South American voyage, will showcase Peruvian and Chilean specialties with guest chefs from these regions. Guests will have the opportunity to prepare their own seafood dishes.
Wellness Expedition – Silver Discoverer offers a wellness-focused program on a quartet of expedition trips to Micronesia, Melanesia, and Australia, including departures on October 4, 18, and 25, and November 9. The benefits of a comprehensive program include stretching, yoga and Pilates classes, daily lectures and cooking demonstrations, gym sessions led by personal trainers using Technogym fitness equipment, and a choice of one complimentary massage treatment.
Bridge Cruise – For Bridge Enthusiasts. On the Silver Wind, sailing from Barcelona to Barbados on November 10, guests can compete for prizes in Silversea's second annual Bridge Tournament. This special voyage, featuring Gerald Fox and Steve Smolen, masters of the American Contract Bridge League , offers guests the chance to win master points , attend seminars, and meet other bridge players from around the world.
Silver Perspectives® – For guests seeking to enrich their minds and enjoy a more enriching travel experience, the Silver Perspectives® enrichment program welcomes destination experts and distinguished guest speakers aboard for fascinating lectures and thought-provoking conversations. Guest speakers include authors, journalists, naturalists, diplomats, professors, and other specialists whose topics range from politics and the environment to tribal customs and ancient history.
