The Port of A Coruña will receive eight cruise ship calls this week, with a combined capacity for over 13,000 passengers, including the two that arrived this morning. The first to arrive was the Navigator of the Seas, from Royal Caribbean. It will remain at the Transatlantic Pier until its departure for the French port of Le Havre. Around mid-morning, the Balmoral arrived from Dover and is scheduled to set sail for Gijón around 9:00 PM. Together, these two ships have a capacity for over 4,000 passengers, promising another day of high tourist traffic in the city. The Corinthian, also scheduled to arrive today, canceled its call due to technical issues.
This is just the beginning of a week expected to see a huge influx of travelers. More than 13,000 cruise passengers will fill the ships arriving in the city, in addition to their crews. Among them, the Crown Princess, from Princess Cruises, stands out for its size, with a capacity for 3,800 passengers. This luxury cruise ship, with its elegant design and 900 balconies spread across three decks, will arrive on Thursday, May 11. That day, another double call is scheduled, this time with the exclusive Ocean Majesty. Two more ships are expected to dock on Friday the 12th and Sunday the 14th, and the week will conclude with another double call on Tuesday the 16th, when the Silver Whisper and the Mein Schiff 4 will both be in port.
