Norwegian Cruise Line’s Norwegian Jade arrived yesterday in Tampa, its seasonal homeport, looking practically brand new after spending three weeks in dry dock. During this time, every aspect of the onboard experience was revamped, from two new restaurants and two new bars and lounges to a complete redesign and refurbishment of the public spaces and the refurbishment of all staterooms. The ambitious renovation of the Norwegian Jade is part of The Norwegian Edge, an investment program that sets a high standard of excellence and encompasses the overall passenger experience across the Norwegian fleet. The enhancements to the Norwegian Jade come just in time for its highly anticipated summer season, the first full season in the company’s history to sail from Hamburg, Germany, to the Norwegian fjords. Embarkation will also be available from the United Kingdom.

Passengers on the Norwegian Jade can enjoy two new restaurants: O'Sheehan's Bar & Grill, a 24-hour pub-style restaurant serving cold drinks and popular snacks in a relaxed atmosphere. The Pit Stop offers poolside fun in a 1950s American diner setting, complete with vintage license plates, gas station signs, and classic car parts. Moderno Churrascaria features a new glass-door entrance with panoramic windows offering beautiful ocean views, new flooring, wall decor, and updated furnishings. Cagney's Steakhouse has added extra seating to its completely renovated space. La Cucina, Norwegian's Italian specialty restaurant, has been modernized with updated décor and furnishings, new flooring, a new decorative bar, and a stunning wine display wall. Teppanyaki, the Japanese hibachi grill restaurant, has been upgraded with updated furniture and fixtures, and the Jasmine Garden and Garden Café restaurants have also undergone significant improvements.
Those who want to dance the night away aboard the Norwegian Jade can now do so in the sleek new Bliss Ultra Lounge, reminiscent of an exclusive Miami club. Passengers who prefer an exotic cocktail can enjoy their favorite mojitos at the new Sugarcane Mojito Bar, featuring new granite bar fronts, furniture, and finishes. The Spinnaker Lounge has also been redesigned with new flooring and window treatments, decorative chandeliers, reupholstered seating, and updated bars with contemporary mosaic tile and LED lighting.
All staterooms on the ship have been upgraded with new carpeting, furnishings, flat-screen TVs, larger headboards with USB charging ports, and more than 2,000 new decorative artworks. Guests traveling in The Haven® will enjoy a more modern and elegant atmosphere in all suites and villas, with new wall and ceiling finishes, new flooring in all suites and balconies, and new linens and draperies. The villas and suites have been decorated with more than 250 new artworks. Luxury has reached a new level aboard Norwegian Jade with a complete renovation of the ship's The Haven Courtyard. Guests in the ship's finest villas and suites can sunbathe in style in one of the luxurious new cabanas located on the top deck or take a dip in the newly renovated pool with modern furnishings and new décor.
The interior courtyard has been enhanced with a striking chandelier, an improved reception and shore excursion area, a new large television screen, and comfortable seating and benches. The Norwegian Jade now offers passengers an easier way to view and purchase souvenirs from their cruise vacation thanks to the upgraded Photo Gallery, which features individual digital monitors and larger photo display panels, along with elegant furnishings and tiled floors. The ship's main pool deck has also been upgraded with new lighting fixtures and new flooring and finishes in both the pool and whirlpools.
The Norwegian Jade offers fitness enthusiasts the opportunity to work out with new TechnoGym fitness equipment and new rubber flooring. Younger passengers can now have a blast playing in the new Splash Academy, which features sound-dampening mats so children can play freely even at night. The ship's elevator landings have also been renovated with new interior finishes and flooring, new wall coverings, new carpeting, and new lighting.
The Norwegian Jade is currently on its final winter cruises from Tampa to the Western Caribbean. On April 30, it will cross the Atlantic to its summer homeports of Southampton and Hamburg, from where it will sail to the Norwegian fjords and offer itineraries to Norway and the North Cape.
