The ports of Mahón and Ibiza anticipate a 53% and 35% increase in passengers respectively for 2017, confirming their consolidation as cruise destinations. Mahón is expected to exceed 110,000 passengers, while Ibiza is projected to approach 340,000. This increase will offset the slight decrease in passenger numbers expected in Palma and Alcúdia.
The Port Authority of the Balearic Islands (APB) forecasts reaching two million cruise tourists in 2017, indicating a trend of consolidation for cruise tourism in the Balearic Islands. While Mahón and Ibiza are experiencing growth, Palma is expected to see a 2.5% decrease, with 2.6 million passengers in 2017, and Alcúdia's port of call has dropped from nine to six, securing 3,500 passengers for the season.
