The shipping company has ordered four ships for delivery in 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025
Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled the first images of its new Leonardo project during Seatrade Cruise Global in Miami. Four new ships will be built by Fincantieri SpA starting in 2022. The cruise line also has an option for two additional ships to be delivered in 2026 and 2027.
“We are eager to welcome this new generation of ships. The stunning new design will offer our guests a flexible onboard experience with an incredible variety of options and seamlessly integrates indoor and outdoor spaces, so they feel more connected to the sea,” says Christian Böll, Managing Director EMEA of Norwegian Cruise Line.
The four ships, each with a gross tonnage of 140,000, will accommodate approximately 3,300 passengers. This new class will enhance the successful offering of freedom and flexibility already enjoyed aboard the brand's newest Breakaway Plus-class ships and will feature an innovative design that will further improve its award-winning passenger experience. Energy efficiency is a key priority in the prototype design, with the aim of optimizing fuel consumption and reducing environmental impact. Details of the wide selection of innovative, never-before-seen features for guests will be announced at a later date.
