Helen Huang has been appointed President for this booming market.
MSC Cruises, the world’s largest privately owned cruise line, headquartered in Switzerland and a market leader in Europe, South America and South Africa, announced today that, following the positioning of its first ship, MSC Lirica, based in China earlier this year, it will strengthen its direct presence in the market by opening its own MSC Cruises office in Shanghai and appointing industry veteran Helen Huang as president.
Gianni Onorato, CEO of MSC Cruises, commented: “After positioning MSC Lirica off the coast of China in May of this year, the next step in developing our business here is to establish direct commercial operations, as well as an institutional presence and a management team based in the country. Thanks to our unprecedented investment of nine billion euros, we have 11 new smart cruise ships on order that will enter service over the next ten years.”
