MSC Cruises, the world’s largest privately owned cruise line, headquartered in Switzerland and a market leader in Europe, South America, and South Africa, announced today that the second smart ship in the Seaside generation will enter service in June 2018 and will be known as MSC Seaview. The new ship will spend its inaugural season in the Western Mediterranean, with homeports in the historic and cultural cities of Genoa, Marseille, and Barcelona.
Sales open today for MSC Voyagers Club members, an exclusive benefit of the loyalty program. All other passengers can book two weeks later, starting July 18.

MSC Cruises' Seaside generation ships are being built at the shipyards of FINCANTIERI, based in Italy, one of the world's largest shipbuilding groups. The new ships combine Fincantieri's naval tradition, expertise, Italian style, and design excellence with MSC Cruises' industry-leading innovation and global vision.

Known as the “ship that follows the sun,” the design of the Seaside generation ships embodies MSC Cruises’ passion for the sea and boasts, among other features, the most outdoor space per passenger at sea. Inspired by a pioneering concept, MSC Seaside will bring guests closer to the sea, with special design elements that allow them to make the most of the warm weather. For example, passengers can enjoy their time on board dining, drinking, and relaxing outdoors under the Mediterranean sun with some of the best ocean views. They will also benefit from a greater number of balcony cabins, magnificent views, and public areas, with every element carefully considered to allow passengers to fully enjoy the sea and the sun.
One of the features that makes MSC Seaview unique is the stunning 360° glass-railed promenade that runs the length of the ship. This impressive public space will be a lively entertainment area where guests can stroll outdoors, eat and drink at a wide selection of bars and restaurants, or shop in the boutiques, all while enjoying spectacular views of the sea.

– Near Field Communication (NFC), using a cruise card, wristband or smartphone for a range of actions such as geo-location of children, cabin access and onboard payment.
– Interactive screens that facilitate the selection of excursions, as well as the booking of shows and restaurants.
– iBeacon technology, which adapts to the specific preferences of each traveler so that they never miss their favorite excursions, will communicate through mobile devices and send push notifications about relevant information and offers.
