The 49th Assembly will be held in Tenerife.
The Port Authority of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, organizer of the largest cruise fair in Europe, Seatrade Cruise Med, which will be held in the capital of Tenerife from September 21 to 23, has given a further boost to its preparations these days from the Ukrainian city of Odesa, on the shores of the Black Sea.
This location has been hosting the 48th MedCruise Assembly since Wednesday, the 22nd. MedCruise is an association comprised of over seventy port authorities representing around one hundred cruise ports, and our organization is a full member of its Board of Directors. The 49th edition will be held in Tenerife, coinciding with Seatrade.
Only member ports can organize the fair
The various meetings of this body addressed topics such as the modality of participation in the fair of international shipping companies, which are expected to attend in significant numbers under the framework of the international association that brings them together (CLIA).
In fact, the delegation from the Tenerife Port Authority held several working meetings with shipping companies such as MSC Cruises, Silversea, Celestyal Cruises and Princess Cruises, who showed their willingness to participate in the fair, as did a large number of specialized media outlets whose presence will help to spread the image of Tenerife and its port internationally.
Also among the national port authorities that have just confirmed their attendance in Tenerife next September are those of Barcelona, the Balearic Islands, Cartagena, Motril, Huelva and Tarragona.
48th MedCruise Assembly held in Odessa
On the other hand, the Commercial Director of Ports of Tenerife, Airam Díaz Pastor, a member of the delegation attending the assembly, as head of Projects and Studies at MedCruise, also took part in the development meetings for a new guide on the construction of cruise terminals, addressing the different needs depending on the type of port and operation.
The selection of Santa Cruz de Tenerife as the venue for the eleventh edition of Seatrade Cruise Med is further proof of the confidence in and recognition of the excellent work of the Provincial Port Authority. The event, to be held from September 21st to 23rd, is expected to bring approximately six hundred delegates from companies in the sector to the island, along with over four thousand visitors.
