Pullmantur Cruises and Wamos Air have made history in Rostock, Germany, where a Boeing 747 landed with more than 500 passengers and 19 crew members on board from Madrid, who minutes later would board the Monarch ship for their 'Northern Fjords' cruise.
Since 2006, when US President George Bush's Air Force Eleven landed at the same airport, Rostock had not received an airplane of this size.
The arrival of the Boeing 747, piloted by Captain Alberto Blasco, was witnessed by the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Christian Pegel, and the Mayor of Rostock, Roland Methling, among other dignitaries. The Boeing 747 then took off again from Rostock Airport bound for Madrid with more than 500 passengers who had just completed their "Enchantments of Europe" cruise.
Pullmantur Cruises and Wamos Air will carry out seven more Madrid – Rostock – Madrid operations in the summer of 2016 with a total passenger volume of more than 7,000 passengers.
